My goal for January was just to keep my bedroom dresser clean. And I did really well- I just had the one focus and it was great.
I have three goals for February. I am trying to keep them simple, and achievable.
1. Finish one unfinished project. I have been meaning to hang some hooks in our mudroom to keep the chaos of backpacks, coats and snowgear at bay. My goal is to decide on where to hang these hooks and get them up!
2. I have been trying to relearn the piano. My goal is to learn one new hymn this month.
3. I have been debating on this last one. I can't decide whether to get up a little earlier, have a better bedtime routine, or an exercise goal. I feel like they all correlate- If I get up earlier, I can add exercise into my morning routine. If I do better at my bedtime routine and get to bed on time, it will be easier to get up on time/earlier in the morning. So this month I am going to try to get up at 6:30 every morning. Whew! That is going to be a tough one.
A couple of other things that I am working on this month:
- I am really trying to finish some unfinished projects. I have some placemats I made that I just need to bind. I have a Santa stitchery that I am trying to get done (so close, yet so much still to do), and I have a quilt for Clark that I am trying to quilt and bind.
- I am trying to take more pictures. I am participating in MCP Actions Photo-A-Day Challenge, though I am not posting them on their site. A picture every day is very hard for me, so some days I have done catch-up. I did 13 days in January and I am trying for more than half of the days this month. Another tough project!
I will try to post an update on Mondays, as long as that goes well. And hopefully I will post pictures also!
Good goals. What hymn do you think you are going to learn? Also, do you already get up pretty early or is 6:30 way earlier than normal? That does sound hard to me, but I don't get up that early yet. I need Natalie to sleep a little more still.
ReplyDeleteI like the idea of posting on Mondays as a checkup to see how the goals are going. I will try to do that too.
I am learning hymn 193. I am trying to learn all of the songs for the primary program this year, and that is the hymn they chose. Plus it is one I used to know way-back-when and it is fairly easy.
ReplyDelete6:30 is earlier than normal. Lately I have barely been dragging myself out of bed in time to get the kids breakfast and ready for school (7:30). I would like to get up early enough to exercise for 20 minutes and hit the shower and be ready for that time of the day. It would start my day better. I have just never been that good at getting up in the morning. I'm a sleepy head. :) Always have been. :)
Well if it is too hard to do 6:30, then try moving your wake up time back 5 or 10 minutes at a time (say a week or so) until you hit your goal. Good luck with that. I would love to get up earlier too.
